What is the maximum length for a ball python and the scientific name for it?

I just want to know if people that like to have a python as a pet, really knows basic things.

What is the maximum length for a ball python and the scientific name for it?
The scientific name is Python Regius.

It gets it's common name from the fact that it often curls itself into a tight ball, with it's head tucked inside when it is scared.

This python typically grows to a maximum of 5 to 6 feet in length, and so it can be kept in a resonably sized terrarium.
Reply:i have four ball pythons, and i like to think i know a little about them. they will reach a max of 6 feet in lenghth. and any other info you might need can be found at

Reply:They can get to be 5-6 feet but mostly it is 3-4. With males being more 3 and females being more 4. They need a mouse(or small rat) once every week for young snakes and adults need one every 10 days. They need a hide on each side of there tank and a water boll on the middle. the hot side should be 90F and the cold side should be no less then 78F. at night it is 75F and 85F.

Hope this helps you,
