What is a scientific name for modern humans?

10 points!

What is a scientific name for modern humans?
Modern humans (and for the last several thousand years) are the species Homo Sapian, homo from the Latin, meaning human (or man), and not from the Greek, meaning 'same'.

Edit:

Nuts, it looks like Yahoo! "nice-language" filter is ripping one of the words out on my display. The stars are covering H-o-m-o, even in the link.
Reply:It's spelled 'sapiens', with a small "s", not Sapian... Report Abuse

Reply:homo sapiens

or more specifically if you want subspecies also homo sapiens sapiens
Reply:Could be Homo Sapiens or Homo Sapiens Sapiens. I'm sure either is acceptable, but I'd go with Homo Sapiens.
Reply:Capital H, small s, small s...
