I have an irrational fear of bubbles. Does anybody know the scientific name for this phobia? Or ways to help?

I have an irrational fear of bubbles. I know this may sound crazy but I have issues with bubbles. Mainly bubbles like kids blow. I am ok until they get around my face or head and then I have a severe anxiety feeling to a point of not breathing.

Hey, I actually know this one! Its called globophobia. A former coworker of mine had it. She saw a balloon pop when she was just a few months old. The unwarranted destruction of such beauty scarred her so much to this day that she cannot stand the sight of balloons. It works with other globes too.
Reply:Bubbles. To have a phobia about bubbles simply means you don't wahnt to be totally enclosed by one. Phobias can set a person on panic attack simply by having a fear. Sometimes a phobia can be traced back to "something " that happened a long time ago. On your birthday when little did a balloon "pop" in front of you? or, did you blow bubbles from a little jar only to find the wind was blowing them all back in your face?

Think it through. Try to write down several things you remember.

Putting down the memories, then ask yourself, How can I respond to my fears now ? according to my Faith, and my values? or just fall apart and react. Turn your written page into a prayer, and let God help you with these fears.

Also, the bubbles might represent lots of allergies you have, and it gives you "alarm" when the thought of allergies comes around.

Stare it straight in the face. Learn what it is. I love balloons, but now that I have LATEX ALLERGY I will not blow any balloons up any more. I kept getting sick every time I visited the children's birthday parties - and Grandma just could not breathe....Finally it dawned on me it was blowing up the balloons that made me sick.

So be on the watch. You have a mind. You can find out a lot of things if you look at it like a detective would.

bye now. Enjoy the winter weather.
