what is the scientific name for a: sponge, cnidarian, echinoderms, flatworm,roundworm,annelid,mollusk,arthr... and mammals

Scientific name?
omfg! i just learned this in science!! cnidarian is a scientific name. the only thing i can remember in it is jelly fish. the scientific name for flatworm is platyhelminthes. there is an easy way where you can remember that; platy-flaty. lol. my science teacher came up with that. and mammals i think is mammalia. thats all i can remember. i left my science note book at school and it has all the names and everything. really sorry but i helped you out as best as i could
Reply:Sounds like you want the Phylum for each of the ones you have mentioned above. Scientific names are for specific things...ie. bobcat has the scientific name of Lynx rufus. Mammals are in the Class Mammalia and in the Phylum Chordata (means having backbone). Phylum Platyhelminthes (Flatworms), Phylum Porifera (Sponges), Phylum Mollusca (Mollusks), Phylum Annelida (Segmented Worms), and Phylum Echinodermata (Echinoderms).
