I need the scientific name and classification for the word platyhelminthes?
Platyhelminthes is the name of the phylum. I believe it is also the scientifice name for flatworms. Platy means flat; helminth means worm. I think they're Greek words.
They have 4 classes:
Cestoda - ex. tapeworms (parasitic)
Trematoda - ex. flukes (parasitic)
Monogenea - ex. monogenia (also parasitic)
Turbellaria - ex. Dugesia... they're cute.
